Community Workshops:

Changing the conversations about life's final chapter

"Through heart-centred conversations, safe spaces, and community partnerships, Mortal Me workshops help people approach life's final chapter with clarity, connection, and confidence."

Why These Conversations Matter

When we break the silence around death, we create permission to:

  • Talk about what matters most at end of life

  • Explore our fears and hopes without judgment

  • Learn practical planning steps in gentle, supportive settings

  • Support each other through grief and loss

  • Live more intentionally, knowing our time is precious

These conversations don't make death easier—but they make us more prepared, more connected, and more capable of facing mortality with courage and clarity.

"I'm told my eyes light up when I talk about death. I guess that's because I know we don't just plan better deaths—we live more fully, love more openly, and leave our people better prepared". Donna

The Mortal Me workshop is designed for an easy conversation about the reality of our mortality.

A 90-minute session that takes the participants on an easy and engaging journey, opening the conversation about life's final chapter.

Starting at values and exploring reflections, wishes and instructions. With activities and a workbook that allow for personal reflection.

"Thanks Donna, we didn't know what to expect but our residents are still talking about it. We're looking forward to welcoming you back" Mike, Manager - Retirement Village, Melbourne.

"My wife made me attend - I thought the subject would make the workshop morbid, but I really enjoyed it, I couldn't belief we could laugh when consider death and dying!" Bob, Lifestyle Village, Mulgrave.

Partner Approach

Maven Bridge believes end-of-life education works best when embedded in communities, delivered through trusted local partnerships.

Bring a Workshop to your Community

Whether you're a community centre manager, faith community leader, workplace wellness coordinator, or simply someone who wants to bring death-literate conversations to your neighbourhood—I'd love to partner with you.

I can help you:

  • Design an event that fits your community's needs and culture

  • Provide facilitation and content expertise

  • Create promotional materials

  • Train your staff or volunteers (if appropriate)

  • Make end-of-life conversations accessible and welcoming

As a partner:

  • Community centres and neighbourhood houses

  • Libraries and cultural institutions

  • Faith communities and spiritual organisations

  • Service clubs (Lions, Rotary, U3A)

  • Workplace wellness programs

  • Retirement communities

  • Multicultural community organisations

  • LGBTIQ+ community groups

How Partnership Works:

You provide: Venue, promotion to your community, and local connection
I provide: Facilitation expertise, workshop content, resources, promotional materials
Together we create: Accessible, meaningful end-of-life education for your people

I'm flexible in how I work—co-delivering with your staff, training your facilitators, or delivering independently. The goal is always the same: making end-of-life conversations accessible, safe, and empowering for your community.
